How to change your iPhone location

Rumbo lets you choose a location on your iPhone after an initial, authorized computer setup. This guide explains the requirements, the steps and how to return to your real location.

Before you start

You need an iPhone you own or are authorized to test, running iOS 17.4 or later, a USB data cable and a Mac or Windows PC. Unlock the iPhone and accept the computer Trust prompt. iOS may require Developer Mode. Mac Setup is available as a preview; check current availability of Windows Setup and the iPhone app before starting.

Step by step

Install Rumbo on the iPhone when available and open Rumbo Setup on your computer. Connect the phone, tap Trust on the iPhone, enter the passcode on the phone and enable Developer Mode if requested. Tap Prepare iPhone and wait until both apps confirm the connection. In Rumbo, search for a place, tap the map or enter coordinates. Selecting a point does not apply it. Tap Apply Location and check the result in Apple Maps.

When you finish

Tap Restore Location and wait for confirmation. Check your real position in Maps; GPS may take time to settle. If a clear fails or is uncertain, Rumbo keeps the recovery action available. Closing the app does not prove restoration.

What this does not change

A VPN may change your IP address and its apparent region, but it does not replace the coordinates reported by iOS Location Services. Rumbo does not modify iOS or require a jailbreak. Some apps use other signals or detect simulation; Rumbo cannot verify what Find My displays.
